Your data

Privacy policy

Last updated October 12, 2026

I collect as little as possible. This page explains exactly what, why, and who helps me handle it.

What I collect

  • Newsletter: your email address and the date you subscribed, when you sign up.
  • Contact form: your name, email address, subject, and message, when you write to me.
  • Anti-abuse data: a one-way hash of your IP address, used only to rate-limit form submissions. The raw address isn't stored.
  • Analytics: aggregate, cookieless page-view statistics (see below).

Why I use it

To send the newsletter you asked for, to reply to your messages, to keep the forms free of spam, and to understand which posts are useful so I can write more of them. I don't sell your data and I don't run advertising trackers.

Who processes it

  • Cloudflare hosts the site (Pages), runs the form endpoints (Pages Functions), stores submissions in its D1 database, and provides Turnstile, a privacy-friendly bot check that replaces CAPTCHAs.
  • Resend delivers transactional email, such as the newsletter welcome message and contact form notifications.
  • Pinterest is only involved if you choose to save a post. The Save button is a plain link, so Pinterest receives nothing from you until you click it.

Analytics and cookies

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-first service that doesn't use cookies or fingerprinting and doesn't track you across sites. Your theme preference (light or dark) is saved in your browser's local storage so it persists; it never leaves your device.

Affiliate links

If you follow an affiliate link, the retailer may set its own cookies under its own policy. See theaffiliate disclosure for details.

How long I keep it

Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept for up to 12 months, then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export, or delete your data at any time, and you can unsubscribe by replying to any newsletter email. Write to hello@foviq.com and I'll act on it promptly. If you're in the EEA, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR/UK GDPR and the CCPA, and I'll honour them.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, I'll update the date at the top of this page.
